Gene was born on August 10, 1921 and passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017.

Gene was a resident of Concord, Tennessee at the time of passing.

He graduated from Old Knoxville High School and then from the University of Tennessee in 1943 with a BS in Agriculture.

Mr. Abel served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church.
